Dr. Christine McFadden, or “Dr. Mac,†undoubtedly the best vet! I am sure that many vets go out of their way to help and care for their clients, but none that I have ever known do this quite like Dr. Mac. The event that stands out the most to me happened a few years ago. It was a Friday night, after 5 PM, and the animal hospital was preparing to shut down for the weekend. My cocker spaniel, Phoebe, was lethargic and began vomiting blood. Completely beside myself, I wrapped her in a blanket, placed her in the car, and rushed to Valley Animal Hospital. On my way, I called VAH and explained the situation. They informed me that they would be ready for us. Within seconds after arriving, Dr. Mac had Phoebe in her arms. She quickly determined that Phoebe had a temp of 104 and not only was vomiting blood, but was bleeding from the rectum as well. She suspected an intestinal infection and/or blockage. My dog's doctor and the staff has been such a blessing to us over the years. Unfortunately we are now down to only two Shih-tzus and have had six dog at one time... labs, and boarder collies, and Shih-tzus. During bad times the doctor(s) has not only treated the dog(s) at their facility but have taken time to call several times a day if necessary to check on the animal and has even taken time to write a personal note (not a preprinted sympathy note) to us when we were forced to put one of our dog(s) down. Not too many do that kind of personal preferences for the patient and owner. It has meant a lot to us and wouldn't like it if we had to change. They are an exceptional facility, the doctors and staff are personable and conciderate. They are all in our prayers and deserve to be recognized and considered.
